Scene Study (Teen)

Service Description

As actors, many elements of the industry are out of our control. How can we stay proactive? By keeping our demo materials up to date, sharpening our performing skills, and ensuring we never lose our sense of play. SCENE STUDY was crafted to help actors dive deep into a variety of material, connect with other performers, and explore new roles. Over the course of the workshop, students will receive multiple scenes to work on in pairs. After a week with the material, the scenes are recorded and feedback provided. The very last class is dedicated to the filming of demo scenes, and actors will be sent a high-quality recording of their material. This recurring scene study class, run by respected professionals working in the industry, will help keep actors on their toes and ready for their next audition. Curriculum: Week 1: Introduction. Ice-breaker and improv games. Weeks 2 & 4: Everyone in class is assigned a scene, and paired up with a partner. Rehearsals in front of the class for feedback. Weeks 3 & 5: Scenes from the previous week are performed and recorded, with feedback provided after each take. Week 6: Audition workshop Week 7: Everyone in class is assigned their final "demo" scene, and paired up with a partner. Rehearsals in front of the class for feedback. Week 8: The demo scene is recorded. Participants are emailed their high-quality material after the class, along with all scenes recorded throughout the workshop.
